According to House Bill 285, there are three options for expiration periods for the cards, which are one year, two years, or three years. In case of patients with terminal illnesses, the card will have an indefinite expiration period if the certification shows that the patient has a terminal illness.
It is very crucial since patients who use medical marijuana for their long-term symptoms do not have to keep renewing their cards every year.
The expiration period of each card depends on the situation and information provided during certification.
Most of the patients from Fresno applying for a medical marijuana card will find themselves undergoing the same procedure through a health care practitioner.
